California Environmental Protection Agency
The mission of the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA)
is to improve environmental quality in order to protect public health,
the welfare of our citizens, and California's natural resources. Cal/EPA
will achieve its mission in an equitable, efficient, and cost-effective
manner.
International Organization for Standardization
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide
federation of national standards bodies from some 130 countries, one
from each country. ISO is a non-governmental organization established
in 1947. The mission of ISO is to promote the development of standardization
and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the
international exchange of goods and services, and to developing cooperation
in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic
activity.
Northwest Public Power Association
Northwest Public Power Association is an association of 160
public power utilities in ten western states, Alaska and three
western Canadian provinces. NWPPA serves the sales and networking
needs of 230 Associate Members who are allied with the electric
utility industry. NWPPA is dedicated to serving the interests of
its members and the millions of electric customers they serve.
The association was formed in 1940, when public power municipal
utilities, public utility districts and rural electric
cooperatives decided they needed one organization to represent
their interests. Since those early days, NWPPA has been an
advocate for public power in the region and has provided services
tailored to member needs.
AmericanSociety for Testing and Measurement
The organization which specifies many of the analyses we perform.
Organized in 1898, ASTM (the American Society for Testing and Materials)
has grown into one of the largest voluntary standards development
systems in the world.
Institue for Electrical and Electronic Engineers
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)is
the world's largest technical professional society. Founded in
1884 by a handful of practitioners of the newelectrical
engineering discipline, today's Institute is comprised of more
than 320,000 members who conduct and participate in its
activities in 147 countries. The men and women of the IEEE are
the technical and scientific professionals making the
revolutionary engineering advances which are reshaping our world
today.
Electric Power Research Institute
Electricity is increasingly recognized as a key to societal
progress throughout the world, driving economic prosperity and
improving the quality of life. The Electric Power Research
Institute delivers the science and technology to make the
generation, delivery, and use of electricity affordable,
efficient, and environmentally sound. Created by U.S electric
utilities in 1973, EPRI is one of America's oldest and largest
research consortia, with some 700 members and an annual budget of
about $500 million. Linked to a global network of technical
specialists, EPRI scientists and engineers develop innovative
solutions to the world's toughest energy problems while expanding
opportunities for a dynamic industry.
